Lu Corfield is possibly best known for playing Freya Wilson on the BBC daytime soap, Doctors, but fans of Lu will know how much of an animal lover she is owning a gorgeous dog named Norma.
This National Dog Adoption Month Lu has spoken out in support of the campaign asking those considering bringing a dog into their home to consider adopting.
Speaking to the National Dog Adoption Month team Lu said, “There are a frightening amount of dogs needing to be rehomed across the UK and, whilst our rescue centres and shelters are doing a wonderful job, we still need further funding and support. National Dog Adoption Month helps to raise people’s awareness of this in so many different ways. Whilst highlighting the fantastic benefits of adopting a dog from one of the many animal shelters, it also promotes the advantages of taking on a dog from a rehoming organisation. It is a month that mixes passion with practicality.”
Lu continues, “The love that the dogsblog.com team have for each of their dogs needing to find a home is obvious, but they also care about everyone that shows an interest in adopting. They know that no one dog (or owner) is the same and flag up the importance of finding the right kind of dog for you and your lifestyle. They want to send each of their dogs and owners off to a happy home.”
National Dog Adoption Month, run by dogsblog.com is running throughout October.
